Under the rectorship of the Reverend Canon Harold Thomasson, the Parish of St Luke was instrumental in beginning an ecumenical ministry in the harbour. This ministry, known as the Mission to Seafarers, is the Church working to meet the practical and spiritual needs of seafarers of all races and creeds around the world. We share our faith by offering friendship, comfort in times of distress, spiritual support, counselling to those with problems, help in cases of injustice, and welcome - all at our seafarers' centre (located on the Dockside Road behind the Lakeport Brewery). People from this parish and churches throughout the community offer their services as volunteers.

For more information contact the Mission to Seafarers, Hamilton Branch at 528-8681 or send an email.
