t. Luke's Anglican Church is one of only a few Anglican
churches in the Niagara Diocese that offer an Anglo-Catholic
style of liturgy. What exactly does this mean and how does
the liturgy differ from that at other Anglican churches?
The following will provide a brief history of Anglo-Catholicism
as well as a description of the form and style of liturgy
being offered at St. Luke's.
Anglo-Catholic Worship at St. Luke's
- St. Luke's is part of the Anglican Church of Canada
- The Eucharistic Lectionary and Anglican Cycle of Prayer
are both observed
- The Sacrament is reserved, available for administering
to the sick and shut-in
- We affirm that prayer is corporate people are
not spectators at the liturgy, but participants
- We affirm that the Mass is not a theatrical production,
but a drama workshop in which all present have a part
to play
